Briar Cliff Picked in 2024 GPAC Preseason Men’s Soccer Poll
(Sioux City, Iowa) – Briar Cliff University totaled 96 points for first place in the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Poll. The Chargers garnered seven of eleven first place votes. Briar Cliff was the 2023 GPAC regular soccer champions.
(Sioux City, Iowa) – Briar Cliff University totaled 96 points for first place in the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Preseason Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll. The Chargers garnered seven of eleven first place votes. Briar Cliff was the 2023 GPAC regular soccer champions.
Concordia was picked second with 91 points and four first place votes while Morningside was picked third. Northwestern Hastings round out the top five respectively. In 2023 Northwestern was the GPAC Postseason Tournament Champion, defeating Morningside 2-1.
Both Briar Cliff and Northwestern advanced to the NAIA Soccer opening round. The Chargers picked up a win before falling in second round play.
The 2024 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship will on November 21-December 9, at the Scheels Stryker Soccer Complex in Wichita, Kansas. Opening rounds will be November 21-23 on campus sites. The GPAC will receive one automatic bid (GPAC Postseason Tournament Champion) to the NAIA Postseason in 2024.
The 2024 GPAC men's soccer season schedule will consist of ten (10) league games as all 11 teams will compete for the conference crown.
