GPAC Men's Soccer Tournament Pairings Announced
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Men’s Soccer Tournament will open on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, with quarterfinal round action.
The top seed in the tournament is regular season champion Briar Cliff (9-0-2 GPAC, 29 pts.), while Northwestern is the two seed (8-1-2 GPAC, 26pts.). The three seed is Concordia (7-0-4 GPAC, 25 pts.). The fourth seed for the tournament is Morningside (5-3-3 GPAC, 18 pts.). The five seed goes to Hastings (5-3-3 GPAC, 18 pts.), with the six seed to Dordt (5-4-2 GPAC, 17 pts.). The seventh seed is Midland (2-4-5 GPAC, 11 pts.) and the eighth seed is Dakota Wesleyan (3-7-1 GPAC, 10 pts.).
Three points were awarded for every conference win, one for each tie, and no points for a conference loss in the GPAC standings. GPAC tie-breakers were used for seeding purposes.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, November 4, with the finals on Thursday, November 9.
The winner of the GPAC Tournament will advance, as the league's second automatic representative, to the NAIA National Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round (on November 16-18). If the regular season champion (Briar Cliff) wins the Tournament, Northwestern (as two seed), will receive the second NAIA berth to the postseason.
The NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Final Site is in Wichita, Kansas, November 27 – December 4, 2023, at the Styker Soccer Complex.
