Week 9: GPAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men’s Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played October 16-22, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week
Men's Offense – Tim Kaltenberger, Northwestern College (Midfield)
Tim Kaltenberger of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Kaltenberger, a senior, from Cologne, Germany, scored three goals in Northwestern's 2-0 week. On Saturday against Hastings, he scored his 12th goal of the season, moving into the top-10 in program history for single-season goals. He also scored twice in Wednesday's win at Waldorf. Kaltenberger has scored nine goals in the last seven games and leads the GPAC in scoring.
Men's Defense – Mitchell Dryden, Dordt University (Keeper)
Mitchell Dryden of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Dryden, a senior, from La Crescent, Minnesota, owed one goal in 180 minutes in leading the Defenders to a 1-0-1 record last week. Dryden made a season-high 14 saves in the Defenders 4-0 shutout win at Jamestown. This was the second clean sheet of the season for Dryden. He followed with eight saves in the Defenders 1-1 draw against Doane.
