GPAC Men's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals Complete
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Men's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals are complete with three of the four higher seeds winning. Midland pulled the lone upset in the four versus five matchup with Northwestern.
The top seed in the tournament, regular season champion Hastings, needed overtime to defeat the eighth seed Mount Marty by a score of 1-0. Concordia, the two seed, downed seventh seed is Briar Cliff 2-0.
On the other side of the bracket the three seed is Dordt advanced with a 3-1 win over the six seed to Morningside. The fourth seed for the tournament, Northwestern, was upset by a score of 1-0 at the hands of the five seed Midland.
The semifinals will be played on Tuesday, November 8, with the finals on Friday, November 11.
The winner of the GPAC Tournament will advance, as the league's second automatic representative, to the NAIA National Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round (on November 17-19). If the regular season champion (Hastings) wins the Tournament, Concordia (as two seed) will receive the second NAIA berth to the postseason.
The NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Final Site is in Decatur, Alabama, November 29 – December 5, 2022, at the Jack Allen Soccer Complex.
