Week 9: Men's Soccer Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week for contests played October 17-23, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-2023 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Soccer Players-of-the-Week
Men's Offense – Blake Hansen, Dordt University (Forward)
Blake Hansen of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Hansen, a junior from Broomfield, Colorado, accounted for 10 points in leading the Defenders to a 2-0 record last week. He scored five goals in wins over Jamestown and Doane, including a four-goal game in a win against the Jimmies on Wednesday night. Hansen leads the GPAC with 14 goals scored and is tied for the GPAC lead with 31 points. Dordt improved to 6-0-4 in the conference, 8-2-6 overall, and extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games.
Men's Defense – Jackson Brown, Hastings College (Defender)
Jackson Brown of Hastings College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Brown, a senior from Uttoxeter, England, played a key role in Hastings coming away with the 2022 GPAC regular season championship. Not only did he help limit the Raiders shots on goal to just one, but he also dished out an assist in the 5-0 victory.
