Week 4: GPAC Golf Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for September 25-October 1, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week
Women – Kaitlyn Dumler, Doane University
Kaitlyn Dumler of Doane University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Golfer-of-the-Week. Dumler, a sophomore from Lincoln, Nebraska, broke the Doane single-round record with a 76 in the final round of the Hastings Invitational. She recorded birdies on two of the final three holes to earn a third-place finish overall. Her two-round total of 156 also broke the 36-hole tournament school record. She broke both records by one stroke.
Men – Ryan Weiss, Doane University
Ryan Weiss of Doane University is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Golfer-of-the-Week. Weiss, a senior from Franklin, Nebraska, tied a 54-hole school record with a 208 at the Central Plains Invitational held at Salina Country Club in Salina, Kansas. He capped the tournament with a final round of 65, one stroke off the single-round school record. He birdied the final hole of the tournament to clinch a two-stroke victory.
