Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Offensive – Alex Van Kalsbeek, Northwestern College (Forward)
Alex Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Van Kalsbeek, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, averaged 29.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two wins this week, eclipsing the 30-point mark with a double-double on the road at Midland. He also picked up two blocks and a steal on the week. Van Kalsbeek now sits in second on Northwestern's all-time scoring list and is 22 points away from becoming the program's all-time leading scorer.
Defensive – Bradley Bennett, Concordia University (Guard)
Bradley Bennett of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Bennett, a senior from Elkhorn, Nebraska, helped Concordia to GPAC wins this past week over Dakota Wesleyan and No. 11 Dordt. In the matchup with Dordt, Bennett drew the assignment of defending GPAC leading scorer Lucas Lorenzen, who totaled nine points on 3-for-10 shooting. As part of that contest, Bennett also poured in 26 points while draining eight treys. He notched two steals in the victory that marked the first blemish of the season for the Defenders.
