Week 5: GPAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Offensive – Alex Van Kalsbeek, Northwestern College (Forward)
Alex Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Van Kalsbeek, a junior from Orange City, Iowa, helped the Raiders to two wins at "The Show" in Tennessee this week, including a win in a top-10 matchup over No. 9 Cumberlands. He scored 26 against the Patriots, adding eight boards and four blocks. In Saturday's win over Bluefield, Van Kalsbeek recorded a double-double with 28 points and 16 rebounds.
Defensive – Casen Chaney, Doane University (Guard)
Casen Chaney of Doane University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball defensive player-of-the-week. Chaney, a junior from Placerville, California, recorded seven steals in Doane's win over Tabor, one off the single-game school record. He helped Doane rally for a road win in Hillsboro as he added 18 points on the offensive end of the court.
