Week 7: GPAC Football Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played the week of October 7-13, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-25 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offense – Zack Chevalier, Quarterback (Morningside University)
Morningside quarterback Zack Chevalier is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Chevalier, a junior from Santa Clarita, California, threw for 441 yards in this week's contest, connecting for four touchdowns. In the win over Hastings he connected on 70 percent of his attempts. Chevalier's 441 yards improves upon his nation-leading averaging of 404 yards per game. He also leads the nation in passing yards and passing touchdowns. The Mustangs host to Briar Cliff on Saturday, October 19. Kick off will be at1 pm.
Defense – Carter Wagner, Linebacker (Midland University)
Linebacker Carter Wagner of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Wagner, a junior from Round Rock, Texas, had a big pick-six for Midland as it won on the road at Briar Cliff on Saturday. Early in the first quarter, he intercepted the Chargers' quarterback near midfield and returned it for a 47-yard score. He added three tackles to his stat line as the Warriors limited the Chargers to 3-for-14 on third downs and only 64 yards of rushing. The Warriors host Hastings on Saturday, October 19. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Special Teams – Laken Harnly, Return Specialist / Wide Receiver (Morningside University)
Laken Harnly of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Harnly, a senior from Bellevue, Nebraska, recorded Morningside's first touchdown on special teams this week, getting free for a 73-yard punt return. He also had 20 kickoff return yards on one kick, with 92 total punt return yards. The Mustangs host to Briar Cliff on Saturday, October 19. Kick off will be at1 pm.
