Week 9: Football Players-of-the-Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played the week of October 24-30, 2022. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2022-23 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/ Football Players-of-the-Week
Offense – Kade McDaniel, Quarterback (Dordt University)
Dordt quarterback Kade McDaniel is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. McDaniel, a sophomore from Gill, Colorado, passed for a career high 344 yards and three touchdowns against Jamestown. He also rushed for 102 yards on 17 carries and led an offense that generated over 600 yards. While completing passes to seven different players he piled up the second most passing yards in a game at Dordt. His 446 yards of total offense was nine yards short of a program record. The Defenders host Hastings College on November 5. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Defense – Gunner Todorovich, Linebacker (Midland University)
Linebacker Gunner Todorovich of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Todorovich, a senior, from Omaha, Nebraska, tied for the team lead with 8 tackles (5 solo and 3 assists) as Midland defeated Concordia this week. In addition to his play on defense, he carried the ball on a fake punt 64 yards to help set up the Warriors' second touchdown of the day. The 14th-ranked Warriors travel to Orange City, Iowa to take on fourth-ranked Northwestern on November 5. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Special Teams – Jared Quinonez, Kicker (Midland University)
Jared QUinonez of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Quinonez, a junior from Tijuana, Mexico, scored 11 points with his leg as Midland defeated Concordia this week. Going 5-for-5 on his point-after kicks, he reached 100 consecutive makes and now has the third-longest streak all-time in NAIA history. He has been perfect on PATS since setting foot on campus three years ago. The 14th-ranked Warriors travel to Orange City, Iowa to take on fourth-ranked Northwestern on November 5. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
