Midland Wins 2019 NAIA Competitive Dance Title
KANSAS CITY – With less than a point separating the top two teams, Midland (Neb.) became the 2019 NAIA Competitive Dance National Champion on Saturday with an outstanding performance to close-out the season. The Warriors edged the Fighting Bees of Saint Ambrose and won the battle to become the first, two-time national champion. Midland won the title in 2017.
Two other GPAC teams also placed in the top 11 at the event. Morningside finished in fourth place while Doane was in 11th.

- Nine of the 12 competing teams were making their first appearance in the NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship (Aquinas, Doane, Morningside, Baker, Siena Heights, Point Park, Mount Mercy, Grand View and Loyola).
- Baker (Kan.) finished in 5th place in the final round of the NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship.
- The Wildcats have the only four-time NAIA All-American in Alison Prather.
- Aquinas (Mich.) rounded out the top three with a 3rd place finish in day 2 of the NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship with a score of 76.75.
- In their first NAIA Competitive Dance National Championship, the Saints secured a spot in the top three.
- Defending National Champion and host institution Saint Ambrose (Iowa) finished as national runners-up.
- St. Ambrose finished the competition with a score of 85.46
- Midland (Neb.) completed its journey to become the 2019 NAIA Competitive Dance National Champions.
- The Warriors scored an impressive 86.35 to win the event.
With the win, Midland is now the only two-time NAIA Competitive Dance National Champions.
