Concordia Wins 2024 GPAC Baseball Tournament Championship

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The two top teams from the regular season, Concordia and Doane, battled on Tuesday night for the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Postseason Baseball Tournament Championship in Seward, Nebraska. It was the home team Bulldogs who emerged victorious with a 5-1 win.

Early on it looked like it was going to be a pitchers duel as neither team was able to get on the board through two innings. Then, in the bottom of the third Concordia outfield Joey Grabanski gave the Bulldogs the lead with a two-run homer to left center. After Doane put a run up in the top of the fifth, the Bulldogs answered with another two-run shot, this time by third baseman Jaidan Quinn. Ty Nekoliczak's double added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth to round out the scoring.

Both teams have secured a berth to the NAIA Opening Round, Concordia as the regular season champions and since the Bulldogs won the GPAC Tournament, Doane (as co-champion of regular season) will receive the second GPAC berth to the NAIA Opening Round.
