Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Drew Dykstra, Northwestern College
Drew Dykstra of Northwestern College is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Dykstra, a junior from Urbandale, Iowa, threw a complete-game shutout on Saturday in a 1-0 win over Dordt. He struck out eight batters on the day while allowing just one hit.
Player – Joey Grabanski, Concordia University (Left Field)
Joey Grabanski of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports player-of-the-week. Grabanski, a senior from Grand Forks, North Dakota, earned distinction as the NAIA's all-time home run leader over the weekend as he went deep three times in the four-game series at Morningside. Grabanski's second homer on April 13 marked the 78th of his career and moved him past the previous NAIA record of 77 by Azusa Pacific's Brice Cutspec. For the week, Grabanski batted .333 (5-for-15) with four runs, three home runs and nine RBIs.
