Week 6: GPAC Baseball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played March 25-31, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Mason Hymer, Morningside University
Mason Hymer of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Hymer, a junior from Tacoma, Washington, gave up just one hit and no runs as he recorded a win and a save in two relief appearances this week. He shut the door against Northwestern in the final inning, before taking over for 5.1 shutout innings in an 11-inning 1-0 win over Hastings. He recorded six strikeouts on the week.
Player – Jaidan Quinn, Concordia University (Third Base)
Jaidan Quinn of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports player-of-the-week. Quinn, a senior from Bonner Springs, Kansas, hit .643 (9-for-14) in a four-game series sweep at Dordt. Quinn reached base in 14 of 19 plate appearances over the weekend and notched two doubles, three home runs and eight RBIs. Quinn leads the GPAC and ranks fourth nationally with 17 home runs on the season (63 in his career).
