Week 5: GPAC Baseball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following baseball player and pitcher-of-the-week for contests played March 18-24, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Kai Purdy-Burton, Morningside University
Kai Purdy-Burton of Morningside University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Purdy-Burton, a sophomore from Pasadena, California, was dominant in his lone appearance on the mound, collecting a complete game win over Mount Marty, who was receiving votes in the most recent coaches' poll. He allowed no runs off of just three hits while striking out 10 in the seven-inning road contest.
Player – Rance Bryant, Briar Cliff University (Utility)
Rance Bryant of Briar Cliff University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports player-of-the-week. Bryant, a junior from Danville, Illinois, recorded nine hits in four games last week while recording 11 RBIs. He tallied three doubles and one triple with a batting average of .643 and a OBP of .688. He also pitched in two games, earning a save against Concordia while tossing two innings in the final game against Dordt and recorded four strikeouts.
