Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Baseball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Seth Christiansen, Dakota Wesleyan University
Seth Christiansen of Dakota Wesleyan University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Christiansen, a senior from Victor, Idaho, took a perfect game into the eighth inning of a game that was only supposed to be a seven-inning game but was still scoreless. He ended up going 9 2/3 innings with nine strikeouts, a career-high. His nine shutout-innings made it 26 straight scoreless innings for the Tiger staff which is a program record. He also hit .435 on the week with seven runs batted in, four doubles, and one home run.
Player – Eddie Brancato, Morningside University (Infield)
Morningside infielder Eddie Brancato is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports baseball player-of-the-week. Brancato, a senior from Arlington Heights, Illinois, hit .619 six games last week, including three outings in which he was perfect at the plate. He tallied 13 hits including three extra base hits, crossing the plate 11 times while driving in seven runs. Brancato was perfect in the field with 19 total chances, six putouts, and 13 assists.
