The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is pleased to name Lucas Mohrman from Lincoln, Nebraska, as the new Assistant Commissioner for Sports Information, GPAC Commissioner Corey Westra announced in the spring of 2014.. 

Mohrman is currently the Associate Tournament Director for Mr. Basketball, Inc.  He has been with Mr. Basketball, Inc. since 1999 and started full time in 2007.  He will retain his position with Mr. Basketball in addition to his new duties with the GPAC. 

"I am excited to have Lucas come on board with the GPAC as our Assistant Commissioner," said Corey Westra.  "He is so well respected by our conference schools and has a great grasp of the NAIA and the conference, he is really the perfect fit for this position." 

Mohrman will officially begin his new duties on March 1, 2014.

"Lucas will be a valuable resource as we expand our operations within the GPAC, I am excited to work with him on a day to day basis," added Westra. 

Mohrman served as Sports Information Director at GPAC member Concordia University (Neb.) for three years. During that time he also served as the Media Coordinator for the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa.  Additionally, he spent time in the broadcasting field, producing "The Morning News with Kent Pavelka" on 1290 KKAR-AM in Omaha.  He continues to do freelance sports broadcasting on both radio and television in addition to officiating high school basketball in Nebraska.

A 2003 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a degree in Broadcast Production Management and a minor in Sports Administration, Lucas & his wife, Amanda, live in Columbus and have two sons (Emerson and Avery) and a daughter Malorie.
