Week 6: GPAC Women's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week

Field Events – Maggie Heesch, Midland University
Maggie Heesch from Midland University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Heesch, a junior from Watertown, South Dakota, took first place at the Mount Marty Last Chance Meet with a toss of 17.03m in the weight throw. She also took second place in the shot put with a distance 13.62m. Both marks were NAIA "A" standards.
Track Events – Jenna Esch, Concordia University
Jenna Esch of Concordia University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Esch, a junior, from Hastings, Nebraska, vaulted to No. 2 nationally (No. 1 in the GPAC) in the 800 meters with a time of 2:15.68 (converted to 2:14.14 on the national performance list) at the Concordia Invite. Esch is now qualified for nationals in the 400, 600 and 800 meters and as part of the 4x400 meter, 4x800 meter and distance medley relays.
