Week 5: GPAC Women's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week

Field Events – Josie Garrett, Doane University
Josie Garrett from Doane University is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Garrett, a sophomore from Columbus, Nebraska, posted the third-best mark in program history in the triple jump with a personal best of 39-08.50. That mark ranks fourth in the NAIA this season. She also added marks of 17-02.75 in the long jump, 5-03.00 in the high jump good for fourth and third at the Fred Beile Classic. She also had a provisional qualifying mark of 8.94 in the 60m hurdles.
Track Events – Kylahn Freiberg, Concordia University
Kylahn Freiberg of Concordia University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Freiberg, a senior, from Nampa, Idaho, turned in an impressive double at the Beile Classic as she won meet titles in the mile (5:03.42) and in the 3,000 meters (10:14.58) with automatic national qualifying times in both events. On the current performance lists, Freiberg ranks first in the GPAC and third nationally in the mile and second in the GPAC and 18th nationally in the 3,000 meters. In addition, both of Freiberg's times at the Beile Classic rank in the top five on Concordia's all-time women's indoor lists.
