Week 4: GPAC Women's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week

Field Events – Kiara Anderson, Hastings College
Kiara Anderson from Hastings College is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Anderson, a senior from Mesa, Arizona, started the day by throwing a season best 13.44m (44' 1.25") at the Charlie Foster Classic in Kearney, Nebraska, in the Shot put to win the event defeating all NAIA, NCAA Division II and Junior College competitors. Her throw was an "A" standard national qualifying throw and ranks third in the GPAC and #12 in the NAIA. She then went on to win the women's weight throw and remain undefeated this indoor season in the event. Kiara threw another "A" standard throw in the weight and still leads the NAIA in the event.
Track Events – Veronica Pinkerton, Hastings College
Veronica Pinkerton of Hastings College is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Pinkerton, a senior, from Beatrice, Nebraska, finished third and was the top NAIA finisher in the 800m run at the University of Nebraska-Kearney's Charlie Foster Classic. Her time converted to a 2:14.23 which is an "A" standard national qualifying time and ranks #1 in the NAIA. She went on to anchor the women's 4x400 relay which won the meet defeating all NCAA D-2 teams and running a time that converts to a 3:54.56 which is another "A" standard national qualifying time and ranks first in the GPAC and sixth in the NAIA.
