Field Events – Kiara Anderson, Hastings College
Kiara Anderson from Hastings College is this week's field athlete-of-the-week. Anderson, a senior from Mesa, Arizona, remains undefeated in the women's weight this season by winning the event at the Concordia Polar Dog Meet with an "A" standard national qualifying throw of 17.77m (58' 3.75") which was over one meter better than her nearest competitor. Kiara currently ranks third in school history and first in the NAIA in the women's weight throw.
Track Events – Kylahn Freiberg, Concordia University
Kylahn Freiberg of Concordia University is this week's track athlete-of-the-week. Freiberg, a senior, from Nampa, Idaho, produced automatic national qualifying standards in the 5,000 meters and as part of the 4x800 meter relay at the Polar Dog Invite. Freiberg ran the third-fastest 5k in the history of Concordia's women's program and clocked a time that currently ranks 11th nationally. She also ran a split of 2:18.017 for the 4x800m relay, which sits at No. 1 in the NAIA.
