Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Softball Weekly Honors
Pitcher – Aliyah Rincon, Midland University
Aliyah Rincon of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports pitcher-of-the-week. Rincon, a senior from Granada Hills, California, began her week with a perfect game against Morningside in game one on Monday. She came on in relief in game two, earning her second win of the day. Over the weekend, she added two more wins to her conference-leading win total, with complete-game victories over Dakota Wesleyan and Jamestown. For the week, she tallied 33 strikeouts with only 9 hits allowed in 23.2 innings over five games while going 4-1 in the circle.
Player – Julia Van Wey, Concordia University (Third Base)
Julia Van Wey of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports softball player-of-the-week. Vany Wey a, senior from San Diego, California, helped the Bulldogs to a 4-0 weekend while notching at least one hit in each game. Over the doubleheader sweeps of Jamestown and Dakota Wesleyan, Van Wey batted .500 (7-for-14) with six runs, a triple, three RBIs and two stolen bases. She is batting .309 on the season.
