Week 3: GPAC Wrestler of the Week

(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following wrestler-of-the-week for contests played November 27-December 3, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Kasten Grape, Doane University – 197lb Weight Class

Doane University wrestler Kasten Grape is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week.  Grape, a junior from Columbus, Nebraska, currently ranked No. 8 at 197, went 4-0 at the Conner/Oppenheim Doane Open with three wins over ranked wrestlers. He opened the tournament with a pin in 19 seconds, the fastest-pin in the weight class in program history. He followed with a win over NJCAA No. 1 Hunter Hall, 5-1. In the semifinals, he defeated NAIA No. 23 John Schuttler by pin in 3:46. Grape won the championship over Grand View's Garavous Kouekabakilaho, 6-5.
