Week 7: GPAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following Men’s Volleyball players-of-the-week for contests played March 18-24, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men's Volleyball Players-of-the-Week
Attacker – Caydann Cox, University of Jamestown (Opposite/Outside)
Caydann Cox of the University of Jamestown is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Attacker-of-the-Week. Cox, a freshman, from Jamestown, North Dakota, helped the Jimmies to a sweep of Kansas Wesleyan. He hit an impressive .414 in the win, with 15 kills. He also added five digs, three blocks and two service aces.
Setter- Lukas Van Groningen, Dordt University
Lukas Van Groningen from Drodt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Setter-of-the-Week. Van Groningen, a junior from Ripon, California, piled up 41 assists in a sweep of Kansas Wesleyan. He averaged 13.67 assists per set. He also added six digs and two blocks.
Defender – Robert Piekarz, Dordt University (Defensive Specialist)
Robert Piekarz of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Piekarz, a junior from Warsaw, Poland, anchored the defense for the Defenders in their lone win on the week. He 5.0 digs per set on the week with 15 in all. In addition, he handle 95 percent of his reception attempts cleanly.
