2024 GPAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Pairings Announced
(Sioux City, Iowa) – Northwestern will be the number one seed when the 2024 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Postseason Basketball Tournament begins on Wednesday, February 28. The Raiders went 15-5 in the GPAC and 22-6 for the season. As the number one seed Northwestern has secured an automatic berth to the NAIA Men's Basketball National Tournament. Northwestern, Hastings, and Concordia all tied for the regular season league title with identical 15-5 records.
Hastings is the two seed, Concordia third and Morningside the fourth seed. The top four seeds all host first round games on Wednesday. The 5-8 seeds are Jamestown, Dordt, Briar Cliff, and Dakota Wesleyan. GPAC tiebreakers determined the seeds for the tournament.
The semifinals are on Saturday, March 2, at the highest two remaining seeds. GPAC Championship Tuesday will be on Tuesday, March 5. The GPAC Postseason Tournament Champion garners an automatic berth to the NAIA National Basketball Tournament (the runner-up gains the berth if the regular season champion (top seed Northwestern) wins the postseason).
64 teams will make the NAIA Men's Basketball Postseason this year. Games will be played at First and Second Round Sites on March 15-16 (four team pods). The 16 opening round site winners will play in the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship is set for March 21-26, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri, at Municipal Auditorium.
