Week 11: GPAC Basketball Players of the Week

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Basketball Players-of-the-Week
Women – Taysha Rushton, Concordia University (Guard)
Taysha Rushton of Concordia University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women's basketball player-of-the-week. Rushton, a junior from Midland, Texas, helped push Concordia's win streak to 12 with victories this past week over Morningside and Northwestern. Rushton racked up a season high 29 points (10-for-15 from the floor) versus Northwestern. She averaged 21.5 points for the week. On the season, Rushton is averaging 15.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Men – Derek Merwick, Midland University (Guard)
Derek Merwick of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men's basketball player-of-the-week. Merwick, a junior from Elkhorn, Nebraska, continued to showcase his prowess on the court for the Warriors. For the week he led the team with 28.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. In Saturday's overtime loss to Dordt, he turned in a triple-double with 32 points, 16 rebounds, and 13 assists while playing virtually every minute.
