Week 2: GPAC Football Players of the Week
(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played the week of September 2-8, 2024. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-25 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Offense – Drew Sellon, Wide Receiver (Morningside University)
Morningside wide receiver Drew Sellon is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Sellon, a sophomore from Fremont, Nebraska, hauled in a school-record 18 receptions in Morningside's win over Concordia, besting a record that has stood since 1968. He racked up 201 yards in the contest, with two of his catches going for scores. The Mustangs will travel to Fremont, Nebraska to take on Midland on September 14. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Defense – Carlos Lopez, Defensive Line (Briar Cliff University)
Defensive lineman Carlos Loper of Briar Cliff University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Lopez, a senior from Placerville, California, dominated the line of scrimmage from his defensive tackle position in the 15-10 victory against the Tigers of Doane. Lopez recorded 12 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three sacks in the contest. His three sacks are tied for second-most in a single game in program history. The Chargers travel to take on Hastings College on September 14. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
Special Teams – Zach Hodge, Punter (Midland University)
Zach Hodge of Midland University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Special Teams Player-of-the-Week. Hodge, a senior from Omaha, Nebraska, had a busy afternoon with five punts during the Warriors' 38-20 loss to No. 13-ranked Dordt. He averaged 36.0 yards per punt with a pair of kicks inside the 20-yard line. His second punt of the day traveled 34 yards and was downed at the Dordt one-yard line. Of his 8 punts this season, 4 have pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line with no touchbacks. The Warriors host Morningside on September 14. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
